Who this policy covers
Suncost LLC operates the Glozza language-learning app and this website. This policy covers the iPhone beta, its supporting services, and information you send us for support.
What we collect and why
| Information | How we use it |
|---|---|
| Account information | Your email address, account identifier, and authentication information let you sign in, recover access, and keep your learning tied to your account. |
| Learning activity | Your selected language, levels, vocabulary lists, practice results, Rules progress, preferences, and review items help us personalize practice and save your progress. |
| Conversations and text | Messages, speech transcripts, conversation context, and generated feedback are processed to provide AI conversations, corrections, translations, and review. Conversation history and feedback may be saved to your account. |
| Audio | When you use microphone features, Glozza captures speech for transcription or pronunciation analysis. Pronunciation recordings are uploaded to our backend for analysis. Conversation replay recordings can also be stored on your device. |
| Voice profiles | If you opt into Your Voice, your passage recording, transcript, consent record, and acoustic measurements are processed and stored to show your pronunciation profile. Voice profiles can be deleted in the app. |
| Usage and diagnostics | Feature usage, credit balances and usage records, network information such as IP addresses, and technical logs help us operate, secure, meter, and troubleshoot the service. |
| Support messages | We receive the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send so we can respond to your request. |
Where information is processed
Glozza uses the following services to deliver its features. Avoid putting sensitive personal information into practice conversations.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): authentication, API hosting, storage, and processing of account data, learning records, conversations, and pronunciation audio. Our backend is hosted in the United States.
- OpenRouter and AI model providers, including Anthropic: receive practice text, conversation context, relevant learning context, and instructions needed to generate replies, corrections, and other language feedback. OpenRouter routes requests to the selected model provider. Provider configurations may change during the beta; we update this policy if our data practices materially change.
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech: receives text to be spoken when cloud-generated voices are used. Choosing an iPhone voice avoids this cloud voice-generation step.
- Apple: provides TestFlight, iOS permissions, speech recognition, device voices, and translation features. Depending on language and device availability, speech recognition may process audio on Apple’s servers. Apple handles TestFlight diagnostics and feedback under its own privacy terms.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and processes network request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it.
Service providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy practices. We do not promise that every provider immediately deletes requests or has identical retention settings. More information: AWS, OpenRouter, Anthropic, Google Cloud, Apple, and Cloudflare.
Listening and microphone choices
Passive listening plays learning content; it does not turn on your microphone. You can choose device or cloud voices. Cloud synthesis sends the text to be spoken to Google through our backend. Cloud-generated recordings are stored for reuse within your account and are configured to expire after 30 days. The app can also retain downloaded audio in a size-limited cache on your iPhone for up to 30 days, excluded from device backups. Signing out or switching accounts clears the active account’s local audio cache. Account deletion includes the account’s stored cloud recordings. Preparing a mix also fetches learning content and can use Apple’s translation features, including language downloads.
Speaking features request iOS microphone and speech-recognition permissions. You can revoke them in iPhone Settings. Conversation replay audio is stored locally when recording is enabled; the app manages a storage budget and can remove older recordings. Speech transcripts and pronunciation uploads are separate from these local replay files.
Your Voice profiles
Your Voice asks for separate consent before recording a passage. The recording is uploaded for acoustic analysis, including vowel measurements. This profile-analysis feature does not use the recording for research or model training. Its measurements remain until you delete the profile. Deleting a voice profile in the app requests removal of its stored audio and measurements.
How long information is kept
Account information, learning progress, saved conversations, review items, and usage records are retained to support your account and the operation of the service. They do not currently have a general automatic expiration period. You can request deletion using the contact details below.
Our pronunciation storage is configured to expire raw uploaded audio and analysis-result files after 30 days, and intermediate processing files after 14 days. Storage cleanup may take additional time after expiration. Saved progress and review records are separate from these temporary files.
Support correspondence, security logs, and backup copies may remain for operational, security, dispute-resolution, or legal needs. If information must be retained after a deletion request, we will explain the applicable reason when responding. Removing the app clears app-local data but does not delete your server account.
Your choices and requests
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent for optional processing. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to processing, restrict it, or complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request.
To stop sending new conversation content to AI services, stop using AI conversation and feedback features. To request removal of previously stored information, visit Your data & account deletion. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already occurred.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, with your consent for optional features, for legitimate interests in operating and securing Glozza, and to comply with legal obligations. Processing may occur outside your home country, including in the United States.
Website cookies and advertising
This website does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, or marketing cookies. Hosting providers may process request logs and use security mechanisms to protect the site. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Beta eligibility and minors
The Glozza beta is intended for adults aged 18 and older in the United States. Minors are not eligible to participate. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information through the beta, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deleting information where required.
Security, disclosures, and changes
We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections. We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice or request consent where required.
